how may I shine
i wish for a moment to pray
but the poetry won’t stop gushing forth
and why now build a dam
for this is the river i’ve been waiting
drought endured
monsoon on the rise
i see all of life
adorned in light
twinkling as it’s received
and i too flutter into open hearts
so how may i shine upon you?
it seems these words are
prayer after all
they come not from the mind
nor from these fingertips
and yet wafting forth
as the blossoming of being
aroma
or sweet pollen
please, take what you need
for my beauty is yours
it’s in your eyes
and
all that can be seen
in me or otherwise
is after all
your own light
all that’s ever been
.
i now have taken off my armor
and stripped down
to meet the river
as i am
unmasked for all to see
so the water calls
and i must go.
but gone i never will be.
