make of they daily way a pilgrimage

“make of thy daily way a pilgrimage” sri aurobindo offered, and since i first came across these words I haven’t been able to shake this sentiment. stuck on the notion of the “way.”

i’m curious, how often do you experience the ~way~ you do things? do come in contact with the quality of your being as you move through the everydayness?

this line of thinking has come and gone through my awareness over the years, but this time it’s landing heavy straight in my heart and slicing through my bullshit.

of course we do things, we do things all day long! we brush our teeth, we eat meals, we do our work, we wash dishes, we speak with people, we check our phones... and another thousand or so things we do each day. you know, the everydayness.

but what can we honestly say for the way we do them? do we do them with full embodied presence? at least with acceptance? with enthusiasm maybe? do we do them with bitterness or resentment?

does it feel available for you to allow each action to be done in such a way that brings peace, or maybe even pleasure?

the saying that the way one does anything is the way one does everything feels true in my experience. and as i continue endeavoring to align my thoughts, words, and actions with my guiding values, the clearest place i can call myself on my bullshit (or at least on the places where my practice requires more integrity and awareness) is in the ~way~.

how’s your way?
