what is

Painting by Tuco Amalfi

We don’t get what we want,
we get what we need.

And we always have what we need,
in the truest sense
even if it might not feel like it.

So if we don’t have what we want,
how can we look closer
at what we do have
at what ~is~
and see that it ~is~ what we need?

How can we stop distrusting the moment
and selling ourselves short
by controlling life to make things different,
under the guise of “better.”

What if we accept what we have
as what we need,
and trust that what we desire,
if we truly need it,
will come.
Or,
something better.
